Clean Energy for the Future

 Cold Fusion Experiments and Theory

This wesite is designed to provide the reader with the evidence for the reality of cold fusion heat, and the theory that explains how it can occur.  The early problem of poor reproducibility has been avoided in studies carried out by Drs. Arata and Zhang at Osaka University in Japan.  These pioneering studies used palladium catalyst coated with adsorbed water.  Further progress has been made by using fine powders of palladium embedded in zirconium oxide crystal.  A technique developed by Arata and Zhang for selecting candidate catalytic powder suggests that nickel can likely be substituted for palladium.

These technical developments suggest that cold fusion energy can play a major role in reducing the world's dependence on fossil fuel.  The applicable theory is consistent with the treatment of atomic orbitals and chemical bonds as practiced by today's chemists.  The correct theory is compatible with an improved interpretation of quantum mechanics, as taught in English  mathematician Roger Penrose's recent book "The Road to Reality".  Students studying this website will be able to understand how cold fusion works, and its prospects for providing safe home heaters purchased with an internally contained lifetime supply of heavy hydrogen fuel.

This www.coldfusionenergyscience.com website is a direct access site that permits the reader to read and print text from the book Cold Fusion, Clean Energy for the Future, by Talbot Chubb.  Direct access means that the reader does not need to download stored files to read or print the text.  The in-progress site provides text, but does not included photos and does not do subscripting and superscripting.  It includes the paper "Many-Centers Nuclei."  Until the subscripting and superscripting problem is fixed, readers are directed to a companion website www.cfescience.com, which permits the reader to download stored pdf files.  It allows the reader to download the whole book, or individual chapters.  It makes available technical papers that can help readers understand the chemistry and physics of cold fusion, such as  "Overcoming the Coulomb Barrier", "Is a Quantum of Mass Always a Particle ?", "Many-Centers Nuclei", and "Pauli Exclusion".  It includes copies of published Arata and Zhang excess heat data plots.

 Cold Fusion Update

 27 May 2008

Arata announced new experiments building on "Metal Oxide + Nanometal Composite" and "Pressurized Gas Heater" technologies.  Arata and Zhang demonstrated the release of cold fusion heat in front of colleagues and Press, using apparatus that received no electrical input energy of any kind.
